First Baptist Church has had a long-standing commitment to missions—spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ to our community, our nation, and our world. We are renewing our commitment to pray for, give to, learn more about, and to be “hands on” in our efforts to do missions.

A percentage of every dollar we receive through our church offerings goes to support missions programs through various Baptist agencies. We have sent individuals and mission teams to places as diverse as Chicago, New Orleans, Miami, Nicaragua, and China!

Of course, our greatest mission field is Gainesville...and we can’t wait to see all the ways that God will use us for His glory right here at home!

First Baptist has traditionally been aligned with the Southern Baptist Convention, though in 1990 we also chose to affiliate with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. We still partner with both of these organizations for the purposes of missions, education, and helping/healing ministries throughout the world.

Food Drive For Gainesville Community Ministries (GCM)

The Mission's Committee would like to thank everyone who donated food for during the Holiday Food Drive.  This food will be used to restock the GCM pantries which are always low after Christmas.  Thank you for showing your love of Christ through these donations.

Operation Christmas Child Report

The Helen Masters Mission Group would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and kindness in participation in the Operation Christmas Child Mission Project. First Baptist Church was able to collect and send 242 boxes.
